About Us
“Our mission is to strengthen youth and families and reduce the incidence of delinquency, abuse, and neglect through community involvement.”
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance is a volunteer-driven community organization. It is one of 26 Youth Assistance programs in Oakland County. Oakland County Youth Assistance is administered under the auspices of the Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division. Principal funding is provided through the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. Each local Youth Assistance office operates with the sponsorship and financial support of its local school district and municipalities. At CAYA, our local sponsors include Clarkston Community Schools, Independence Township, Springfield Township, and the City of the Village of Clarkston.
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance is a non-profit community service organization committed to strengthening youth and families by preventing and reducing juvenile delinquency, child neglect and child abuse through community involvement. Volunteers work with a professional staff to plan and sponsor enriching programs for young people and families in the Clarkston School District.
What We Do
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance was established in 1961 for the purpose of preventing juvenile delinquency and neglect in the Clarkston, Independence Township and Springfield Township communities. With the help of local citizens, Youth Assistance tries to identify the needs of the community and implement programs that help both children and families. Youth Assistance volunteers provide support in various projects and endeavors.
