About Our Casework Services
Clarkston Area Youth Assistance provides confidential, short-term, family-centered casework and referral services for youth 17 years or younger and their families living in the Clarkston Community School District. Referrals are accepted from schools, police, community members, and parents with concerns about their children. Additionally, the Juvenile Intake Unit of the Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division may divert a case when, in their judgment, Youth Assistance services are most appropriate. Typical reasons for referral include early intervention, behavior concerns at home or school, substance use, truancy, status offenses, or violations of the law and local ordinances.
Casework services are free and offered voluntarily.
If you would like more information about potential services or need any information about referrals, please get in touch with us. You can reach our caseworker, Lauren Klos, at klosl@oakgov.com or the Clarkston Area Youth Assistance office at 248-623-4313. Please leave a message if we don’t answer, and we will return your call.
