Homework Club

Consistent

For over 15 years, Homework Club has provided after-school tutoring in a safe place with caring adults, who provide homework support and other forms of guidance.

Caring

Students receive a nutritious snack and connect with their tutors before working on their homework.

Self-esteem

Homework Club builds confidence and self-esteem in students through preparation for school, so they feel more confident about classroom performance.

The Homework Club

The Homework Club (HWC) is an after school support program providing students in grades 3 – 5 a safe and supportive space to eat a nutritious meal and then complete homework with minimal distractions. Each student has a volunteer tutor/mentor who helps with homework, provides supplemental reading and math resources and lends an ear.

The HWC meets Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in a space generously donated by Bridgewater Park Apartments in Clarkston.

Students receive a warm greeting upon arrival by HWC volunteer staff who share details of the students’ day, accompany them as they pick up their snack trays and then to their seats to begin the session.

The HWC is possible through financial support from the community and Clarkston Area Youth Assistance sponsors. Volunteer tutors are highly dedicated people committed to making a difference in a student’s life. We are grateful for donations maintaining this valuable program for Clarkston youth.

We are always looking for individuals who would like to volunteer to support and mentor students in The Homework Club.  If you would be interested in finding out more about the program, or volunteering to be a tutor/mentor, please fill out the application by clicking on the button below, and email the application to caya@clarkston.k12.mi.us, or send through the mail to:
